This was our first port of call on a 7 night safari, which was operated by UTC. Having arrived in Kenya at Mombassa, Taita Hills Hilton was reached after several hours driving (in a roundabout/game drive type of way);.
Accomodation was clean, the food a mixture of local cuisine and 'international', which we found ok. Evening dinner was eaten to the background of live local musicians, playing drums etc....very 'Tarzan'! The one solid memory i will take away from this place is that of the sounds at night. Having not known quite what to expect, the sounds of lions/elephants/frogs etc etc was quite something at 1am!
The Taita Hills is not the epitomy of luxury, but is however still an oasis. We wouldnt hesitate to stay again should we return to Kenya for another safari.
