Our first impressions of this hotel were met. It looks visually stunning from the outside. However, on the inside itâs a different story.
The facilities for all inclusive guests were shocking. This is a massive hotel yet the only bar for all inclusive guests is a TINY little bar next to the lobby. The information, which we were given when we checked in talked of a bar by the beach area, this was still being built. The hotel did have several other bars but you could not get all inclusive drinks here. So all of the inclusive guests had to use this 1 tiny little bar to get a drink. When you finally did get to the bar you were given the third degree about whether you were all inclusive or not. There was no wristband or ID system so the staff had no clue who was all inclusive. I got sick of having a discussion every time I just want a glass of Coke! The bar staff were very off hand with all inclusive guests. On dayâs when they felt like it they did table service in the bar, this was so slow. You would order drinks, which would never arrive. Trying to get a hot drink was near impossible. I ordered a coffee on one occasion and the waiter just sighed.
The main buffet restaurant service was just as bad. You would be shown to your seat and often sat for 10-15 minutes before anyone would notice you were there. Tables were not cleared so you would be shown to a table full of dirty plates. The buffet food was rarely re-stocked. The chefâs would wait for something to totally run out before cooking any more, meaning that there were long periods of time where food wasnât available and long queues would form.
The evening entertainment DID NOT EXIST. There was none. The first night I asked at reception and was told there isnât any. Even today I have just checked the Thomson website and it lists Daytime and evening entertainment, live music daily, beach chill out parties with DJ. This is/was a total lie. There was none of any of these on ANY day.
The Thomson rep at the hotel was very helpful. You know thingâs are bad when she startâs her welcome meeting with an apology to everyone for the bad service.
This hotel is just not ready for all inclusive guests. They treat business guests like royalty and all inclusive guests like squatters. However, the pool is great. The private beach is also nice and the beach staff stop you getting any hassle from local sellers. The sun-loungers are very nice and we did the âLaserâs & Lightâsâ excursion which was EXCELLENT.
