Yes, we have visited North Cyprus and lived it so much! You can still find unspoilt places to explore. The Karpas Peninsula was fantastic, the best beach on whole island is found here, the golden beach. The restaurants were great! The beaches were superb! And finally we stayed in Riverside Holiday Village (www.riversideholidayvillage.com) which was excellent.

North Cyprus is a love or hate it destination. Do not expect good service or accomodation and you will be fine. Power cuts are still a fact of life. As a tourist you will be charged a different price to the locals. The Castle in Kyrenia harbour for example as well as everything else in shops, bars & restuarants. Restuarants are more expensive in the harbour area and you are likely to be pestered by waiters to get you into their restuarants. North Cyprus is not a cheap destination anymore and you may be disappointed by the terrible litter and development going on. When walking be very careful of pavements and wires, look down at all times! It is no longer the unspoilt paradise advertised. The easily accessable beaches are now pay to use. Don't be tempted to buy property. Look at the internet forums for the tales of woe and heartbreak. You will need to hire a car if you want to escape your hotel and high bar prices. Beware of glowing reviews on these travel websites.
