The special interest heading comes from the fact that was a dirty weekend away from the hustle and bustle of work/kids/divorces etc...
The select hotel is almost opposite the Sorbonne so is very handy for the best parts of Paris. The hotel itself is small and friendly, with english speaking and polite reception staff. For those two facts alone it should be awarded 5 stars!
The rooms were immaculate, although a little 'modern', and looked like something from Carole Smiley or Laurence Llewellyn Bowens dream factory. Next door was a handy little wine bar, which were most helpful in securing us a bottle of champagne, so helpful in fact that the owner sprinted to our room to open it for us. Shame my girlfriend was wandering about naked when he entered...... Something i find hilarious now though!
Select Hotel: couldnt really fault the place, and was an excellent venue for what we had in mind.

We found booking this holiday with Expedia very easy, and would recommend them to anyone. Hotel was exactly as described, and in a prime location in the Latin Quarter, only 10 minutes walk to Notre Dame, and with Place Monge metro station just round the corner. Rooms were cleaned and sheets and towels were changed every day. We thought it excellent value for money, and will definitely return there.
Highlights of the trip included the obvious tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre. Our favourite thing was a meal at The Buddha Bar, a really cool restaurant near Place de la Concorde. The food was spectacular and the decor included a giant Buddha statue. Drinks were very expensive, but the whole experience was worth the money.
I would recommend a Paris mini-break at this hotel to anyone, we loved every minute!

A large group of us went on this weekend break last year and if we were not together it would have been awful. Whilst Paris is lovely and a great experience the hotel was not. Our room was damp and cramped. The staff were extremely rude. The breakfast was absolutely awful and the same badly cooked meal every day! The restaurant chef was useless, I could have cooked our meal better! We had 3 pieces of beef on a bruchette (kebab stick); which was not what I ordered and they were unconcerned about that. I walked out and would not eat it. We only paid for our starter and that was a waste of time too. They just could not be bothered with us. We were not a young loutish group, just a group of middleaged couples. We took a taxi into the city and were charged 56 euros - needless to say we took the last metro back - 30 mins to our hotel and we had to walk most of the way as taxi refused to stop for just 3 of us. We were wandering around the metro terminal trying to find our way out at about midnight not knowing our way round. It was awful and I found the local people very unfriendly and unhelpful. I would only visit Paris again if the french were not there! To top it all a visit to the local pizza parlour ended in the chef and the delivery boy having a punch up with my husband trying to stop it. The police were called and the boy ran off with a broken nose. Great!! Back to Greece I think!

Paris, WOW!!!! What a city, Spent three fantastic days exploring its delights. Paris has a veritable feast of things to do from the Eiffel Tower to the musee de louve. a trip down the siene, or stroll along the champs elysee, Pasis will keep you entertained both night and day.
The hotel was good a little more aimed at business clients than tourists. Prices are steep for both food and drinks and we eat out on most occasions.
Would recommend a city break in Paris to anyone.

Awesome city. Stayed in montmartre, near the sacre cur. Lots of things to do and not as expensive as I had thought. Can get 3 course meals for 10 euros in montmartre. Moulin Rouge is very pricey tho!
