Holiday reviews for Elounda

We stayed at Plaka just along the bay from Elounda opposite Spinalonga (must visit); and we had a lovely holiday. We stayed in apartments up the hill about 10 mins from the beach and had use of the pool across the road. All in all it was great. Elounda is very quiet with lovely restaurants and a weekly vegetable market. Plaka is just a small fising village and you would need a car or bus to Elounda (about 10 mins);. About 20 mins to Ag. Nick. The worst thing is the transfer to the accommodation from the airport as you stop everywhere before Plaka as it is the last drop off point. Took hours. Might be cheaper to plan and hire a car or even taken into holiday cost a taxi. All in all a lovely place.
