The cleanliness of the rooms is not up to standard. There were piles of dust/hair in corners of the room and around the base of the toilet. The bins were emptied every 3/4 days- given that the drainage system in Greece is so poor that you have to put your used toilet tissue in the bin, this was incredibly unhygienic and cause for concern.
Our room was small and had a poor layout. We had S/C board basis, but did not use any of the kitchen facilities because they smelt stale/mouldy. We ate in the bar, but the food was expensive in comparison to other bars.
The service at the 24hour bar was erratic. The place is ran by a family and they were often sat together eating, chatting out of sight of the bar so you could be waiting a long time to be served.
On the last day we were asked to vacate by 12 noon. If we wanted to keep the room later then it would cost 30Euros 11pm. We decided not to take this option, and instead use a friends room. Our cases were also damaged and did not want to leave these in reception where anyone could access them. The staff asked why we did not leave our cases in reception we told them why and were advised that this was ok, but we were not allowed to use the shower/electricity in their room because we had not paid for it.
Later when we used our friends room to get ready for the journey home, we were followed by the owner of the apartments who had come to the room to inform us we were not allowed to use the facilities and to get out of the room. At this point we were not dressed and the male owner would not leave the room even after he was asked several times to leave whilst we dressed so we could explain the situation. He was very aggressive and we three girls felt incredibly intimidated and unsafe. We quickly dressed and took our broken suitcases down to the reception area. When we explained the reason for keeping the suitcases upstairs we were told that they had a secure baggage room he could have kept them in for us. If we would have known this then we would have taken this option. However, the other members of our party had taken their cases down to reception in the morning and they had been left in reception all day ?not in the secure room which he later told us about.
We were later told by a local shopkeeper that the standard rate to keep rooms later is 10 Euros from 12 noon until 11pm. We were also advised to tell the police about this additional charge.
All members of out party will be making their own complaints.

great place for nightlife except that lots of places can be closed at 12pm, unless you stay at Chaplins which has the 24hr splash pool bar ;-); weather is extremely hot and the beech is really nice. A bit of a tacky english yobs holiday but still a very nice place

we went to Faliraki last year as a last girls holiday, and chose it because we wanted somewhere lively.
Chaplins apartments were definitely not the best we've stayed in! Although they were self catering, there were practically no cooking utensils, so we couldn't cook if we had wanted to. They weren't very clean either, and we saw several cockroaches throughout the week. Although we complained to the rep, she wasn't helpful at all, so we became cockroach killers! In Greece you have to put your toilet roll in the bin rather than down the toinlet, and as they didn't empty the bin every day, this was our least favourite part. Also we had to walk around to the back of the complex to get to our room, and the lights were't working, so in the middle of the night it was quite scary. The pool had plenty of beds, and a bar where you could also get food. and the bar staff were friendly.
Bar Street (where all the bars are - there's also a Club Street); was only a few minutes walk away. It's one street lined on both sides with bars blasting out music. Each bar has someone trying to get you in there, so if you just want to get to the end it can be quite annoying trying to dodge them - they are very determined. We always started the night with a fishbowl cocktail in Ziggy & Charlies bar.
Overall, Faliraki is a good place if you're lookikng for a wild holiday, but I wouldn't recommend Chaplins apartment to anyone, we were relieved to leave there!
