Quinta dos Brejos is a group of privately owned apartments situated on the outskirts of Albufeira in between the entertainment Strip and the Old town. The apartments are furnished to a high standard all with air con. The apartments come with all you need to have a self catering holiday, although ours did not have a kettle so we had to boil the water for coffee in a cheap metal pan which spat boiling water out at you when you tried to pour from it.. Some have Sat TV some have not. The pool area was quiet ,clean and tidy and had free sun beds around it. On the downside the walking time to the Strip or first shop is about 15 to 20 mins downhill so walking back was a nightmare when you were laden down with all your provisions. The walk to the beaches either in the Old or New town areas was about 30 to 40 mins all downhill there, uphill back. The taxis are cheap but as you are not allowed to flag one down you have to find a taxi rank and then wait although the longest we waited for was about 20 mins. Another downside was the Estrada de Vale Pedros, the road that leads to the complex. We stayed in apartment Q whose balcony overlooked this sometimes busy road. We stayed in July 2007 and it was traffic from dawn until dusk. Visit UTUBE, search ? Quinta dos Brejos? and you will see what I mean.
To sum up, this complex is clean tidy and well maintained. The apartments are comfortable light and spacious. As there is a bus stop just outside which will take you to the shops and beaches a car is not strictly needed but I would recommend. to make things easier. This is a lovely complex in which to have a holiday BUT BE ADVISED to make sure your apartment does not overlook the Esrada de Vale Pedras because unless you like counting cars the balcony is not a pleasant place to be.
