Had a wonderful holiday in Cala Llonga. Hotel was good, rooms are basic but clean, and the ceiling fan is very powerful. Food was okay - some nights were brilliant, others poor, breakfasts were good if you like full english and don't mind queuing. Hotel entertainment was good at times - Abba tribute band was probably the highlight.
Although the pool area is big, the sun loungers were lined up side by side with no room to move, so we went to the beach instead. The beach is clean & the sea is clear, warm & shallow. In July, the weather was perfect and we were still sunbathing at 6pm.
Cala Llonga is a very quiet resort. Our favourite bar was Bar Jovi which played Cafe del Mar type music. The other bars have different entertainment every night, usually karaoke. Drinks are quite expensive, usually the same price as in England.
We ate out a few times. The Wild Asparagus is a bit of a walk, but is the best restaurant in the resort and definitely worth it. La Cantina english pub does really nice sunday lunch and typical pub food. The chinese restaurant was the worst meal we've ever had! We ordered a crab salad, and were given a plate of salad with one of those frozen fish-sticks chopped over the top! Main course wasn't much better. Don't go there!
Overall, it was a really relaxing holiday, we would definitely go back.
