Went to the Viva 9-23rd September. I believe it was more or less full during that time but it was hard to tell because there seemed to be people either leaving or arriving EVERY day. We were in Block 2, which is across a road and separate to the main Aparthotel. I must say we where disappointed with this, not only because you feel slightly away from the action but because we were at the back of the block facing a barren landscape (apart from the Aqua Park); which also meant that you only got a sliver of sun between 5.30 and dusk! Maybe during a baking hot summer some may see that as an advantage.

The apartments, restaurant and environment are spotless with plenty of ground staff and cleaners keeping the place, as you would hope to find it. The apartments are not overly big, and I think four in one would be a bit of a squeeze. Also the kitchen area is very limited space wise which didn?t concern us unduly but we noticed that there was almost no space to store basic stuff such as crisps, biscuits, cereal etc. So if you intend to really do anything more adventurous than sandwiches or toast you might be in for a struggle. In our block the cleaners where there everyday except Thursday and Sunday. Beds where changed daily and towels where changed if you left them in the bath.

I should imagine in hindsight the Viva would have allowed for a far bigger pool area. It can become uncomfortably cluttered when the hotel is operating at near full capacity. There where a lot of toddlers there when we where there which was fine. I?d rather have the odd tantrum from a 3 year old than a gang of bored teenagers skulking around the place because they are bored. However there where some rather selfish people there who didn?t bat an eyelid at securing for themselves FOUR sun beds and making a pen for the kids to play in. So when you have that situation allied to all the paraphernalia associated with moving a baby around it can make for a very crowded, uncomfortable situation. There is a very large area, which is reserved for the evening entertainment, which is normally empty during the day, but the tables and chairs are left out permanently (a complete waste);. There are no parasols in this area, the same area where the reps insist on talking piffle for the best part of an hour at the welcome meeting in 80 degrees of unprotected heat. Can?t remember much about the meeting, just the normal drivel trying to sell tours etc and trying to flog the ?sit together? reservations for the return journey.

We endured the evening ?entertainment? only once and went out to the Marina (turn left out of the reception); or the bars just past the roundabout (go right when you leave the hotel); the rest of the time. We did get back to the apartment for a final drink one night at around 23.45 pm (bar closes); at 00.30 and had no sooner bought our drink and where give the 'bum's rush' and had drunk up and gone by 00.00 with the doors uncerimoniously slammed behind us. A few days later we probably found out the reason for their enthusiasm as most of the entertainment team, reps and barmen appeared at the 'BIG APPLE' at a similar time!
There is plenty of choice down at the Marina, food prices are comparable to the UK but we found alcohol to be generally expensive.

A trip to Citudella is well worth it and can be reached by bus. The bus stop is near the Marinda Park or there is one before that (bear right at the roundabout); Be aware that you must purchase your return ticket at the kiosk when you get off the bus in Citudella (you WONT get on without one);, another point not mentioned by the reps!
