Cala n Bosch is definitely best suited for aimed at young family market with young kids. We have a 14 month old and there were plenty of families the same as us pushing their little ones around in a buggy. The resort’s main focus is a large marina with lots of nice restaurants and bars around it. There are also a few games arcades and a large play area called Goody Goody Land, which seemed very popular with kids.
There are lots of restaurants serving a wide variety of food around the Marina, and lots of bars, including a couple of ‘English’ ones showing football. We went to a Chinese restaurant and thought the food and service were excellent. There are also a couple of crepe stalls – the banana and nutella ones were gorgeous!
We strolled around the Marina most nights, feeding the fish in the sea, checking out the luxury boats moored there and watching the street artists.
We didn’t book any excursions with the Rep, but one thing we did do is go for a late afternoon /evening trip to nearby Ciutadella. You can catch the bus right outside the hotel every 30 minutes (10 to and 20 past the hour) and only cost a couple of Euros. Takes about 45 minutes to get there depending on how busy it is. The bus at around 5pm was very busy with people travelling back from the beach, so get there in good time as there was a big queue and the bus ended up full. There are some lovely restaurants in the harbor, and lots of narrow streets with shops and stalls – definitely worth a visit.
If you’re after a lively holiday then maybe this isn’t the right resort for you, as the main focus is on eating and walking around the marina. If you’re after a nice family resort with enough going on for young families then this is ideal. We would definitely go back.

The best thing about this hotel was the fact that it was more or less on the beach,it is not a very large beach but big enough not to be too crowded (although it was only the beginning of june when we went and i suppose it would be busier in peak);but it is beautiful and we loved it. The next best thing was the food although there was not an enormous amount-what there was,was nice and especially the breakfasts we enjoyed these.Dinner could be annoying as there were often large queues waiting for a table as there just didnt seem enough of them. The hotel itself seemed very dated and though the brochure said it had undergone a refurb-you could have fooled me it was shabby and old fashioned! there were broken tiles on the floor near the childrens area with very sharp rough edges, and the childrens play area itself had ripped and shabby foam tiles down which looked a mess.As for the entertainment it was a joke! the team did try at times i suppose but it was boring and the worst i have ever seen,in a word-RUBBISH! We all came down one by one (5 of us);with sickness and diarrhoea luckily this was towards the end of the holiday but nevertheless was awful and ruined a couple of our days, there were quite a few others who came down with it too and the doctor said it was a little boy who had started it off and not the food?but who knows? Also Cala n bosch is not the liveliest of places well it certainly wasnt when we were there but again this could have been due to the fact it was early june,it was a little too quiet for us as a family, seemed more of a couples place really. There is not an awful lot around there apart from the marina which yes is lovely and did get livelier at night, but thats about it really.Oh and there is a water park not the biggest or best but still ok for the kids and ours had a good time. Also this was not a cheap holiday and we paid alot of money for it, which in our opinion was a rip off and not worth it at all and just cant understand how they can charge thousands of pounds for something like that, just wish we would have known before! At least you do!!! If you are going to book this hotel make sure you get it dirt cheap.

Menorca was surprisingly beautiful. Traveling the whole Island by hire car, we had picked the best resort to stay. Cala n Bosch is a lovely destination. It is a small, but lively resort with gorgeous white sandy beaches and a clear blue sea.
The main shopping/tourist area is set around its Marina, mooring lots of very expensive yachts. The circular Marina is very pretty, clean and lively, however not too lively - it isn't recommended for groups of teenagers. The resort of Cala n Forcat would be more suitable - boasting a large variety of all night bars and clubs.
Hiring a car is recommended, to visit the old capital Ciutadella, which is very beautiful and full of historic buildings.
The Princessa Playa hotel has good pools, childrens activities and nightly entertainment. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
I would recommend couples and families to visit Cala n Bosch. With its scorchio weather too, you will love this place!

Cala'n Bosch is absolutely beautiful. I went with 2 other friends and left hubby and boys at home. By mid week I decided to spend some time alone as I felt the holiday was turning into a dictated week. I spent most days at the beach talking to some wonderful local and british people who all spoke very highly of the place. I sat one evening on some rocks near the lighthouse with a bottle of sangria and watched an amazing sunset. The marina is superb and the surrounding area has an abundance of bars and restaurants. The locals really look after you and I frequented Chaplins bar in the evening with friendly waiters and really nice people to meet too. It is a super place for families but also a wonderful place to be romantic, just walking around the marina in the evening or down on the beach which was clean and glorious. The sunbeds were pricey so buy a lilo for about 4 euro and a parasol (didn't buy one); and you can give them away to someone on the beach at the end of your holiday as I did to save you taking them home. Flora Garden was ok. Basic room, not enough pillows or sheets for person sleeping on lounge, air con machine rattled so I slept on balcony under the stars which was wonderful as I saw shooting stars too! Room wsn't cleaned often enough and was never mopped all week. Room overlooked busy road and at 4.30pm every morning I was woken by recylcing lorry emptying bins located right by. Visited many hotels while I was there to have a look and the Casas del lago is fab, met some nice brits staying there for 2nd time, it overlooks marina. I have come home and have now booked to stay at Valentin Star hotel with my hubby for next May. Can't wait!
