benidorm is very clean espesially the beach. always feel safe in the resort.

I was not particularly surprised to hear that this hotel burned to the ground only 7 days after we left it on the 26th July 2008. One of my very first comments when we entered the crammed room (which was ironically located the floor above the kitchens where the blaze began); was "where are the fire-safety instructions"? In short there were none.

The hotel was totally money minded - with a female 'bouncer' for want of a better word, vetting peoples property as they entered the pool area in case they were harbouring items that were purchased outside of the hotel, and subsequently confiscating them if found, it was like being back at school! 3 euros for an ice-lolly and 2.50 for a tiny bottle of water at the pool cafe, who wasn't going to bring their own refreshments in order to avoid running out of funds by the end of the week!?

A 'family' room was actually a very small 'double' with an extra bed, and in our case a cot added in. There was hardly any floor space as a result and all the beds touched due to the lack of space - more penny pinching on the hotels part by taking money from a family only to provide a room that in other cases only 2 people would pay for!

As for the restaurant - A Butlin's canteen springs to mind. To go away for a week for what I classed as a rest, was blighted by the requirement to clear up all our dinner things and scrape our own plates following our meals??? There were approximately 2-3 waiting staff who clearly did NO waiting as it was apparent that guests were expected to do this themselves!

Food was 'basic' to say the least - chicken legs and pork chops, accompanied by chips or roast potatoes was as 'risque' as they got - or to really push the boat out potato wedges may have been offered! Steady on chef!

The pool area was wonderful, that has to be said, but having taken a 1 year old, the entire complex was wholly unsafe for him. A playpark that sloped at a 45 degree angle side-ways was a joke, and stairs (as warned in the brochure); that meant carrying the buggy just about everywhere, as the lifts were either always busy indoors, or there were masses of stairs outside which by the pool were dangerously slippery. And better than that the evenign entertainment was situated with all seating surrounding two small pools, we met a family whilst there who's 2 year old had fallen in one evening which went unnoticed for several minutes - scary!

The rooms were clean, that can be said and the domestic staff very friendly, but as for the rest of the hotel team, faces like thunder is all I can say. The hotel too was approximately a 60/40% split with the majority of guests being Spanish, this did also appear to pose problems in relation to things being very geared around their own race - yes, we usually moan that holidays aren't authentic enough, but this Spanish presence did not make things any more authentic when always second in preference, for example at the bar, to a Spaniard.

Hugely disappointing, and misleading on Thomson's part we felt. We WON'T be using Thomson again.

THIS HOTEL AS EXCELLENT STAFF, BUT DOES LEAN TO CATERING FOR ITS SPANISH GUESTS BEFORE THE BRITS. THE HOTEL IS IN NEED OF REFURBISHMENT IN QUITE A FEW AREAS AND THE ENTAINMENT IS REPETATIVE AND POOR IN MANY CASES. THE EVENING LOUNGE IS MADE UP OF LOTS OF PILLARS WHICH BLOCK YOUR VIEW TO THE STAGE WHEN SOMETHING GOOD IS ON WHICH WAS TWICE IN OUR HOLIDAY. WE WERE THERE FROM 08/03/08 - 23/03/08 WHICH TO BE FAIR IS SPANISH PENSIONERS TIME. ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL AND COULD DO WITH A LICK OF PAINT .THE POOL IS SURROUNDED ON THREE SIDES BY THE HOTEL SO WARMS UP VERY SLOWLY
AS THE SUMMER GOES ON.THE ROOF POOL IS SMALL BUT GOOD FOR KIDS BUT WITH LIMITED SPACE FOR SUN BATHING UP THERE. IF I HAD TO RATE IT, I THINK I WOULD PUT IT WITH MY EXPERIENCE AT 1.5 STARS. THE HOTEL IS SITUATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF BENIDORM AWAY FROM THE USUAL BRIT PLACES IN THE OLD TOWN WITH QUITE A STEEP WALK ON THE WAY BACK FROM THE BEACH.COACH AND HORSES IS A GOOD PUB JUST DOWN ON THE FRONT IF A BAD DAY AT THE HOTEL.

Went to benidorm june 07, apartments were really good they are only 2* but spotlessley claen, large pool, inside bar and pool tables, 24 hour reception even had milk and water and juice u can buy to take up to ur rooms. the apartment was a 2 bed with very large balcony our party was 4 adults. theres no kettle apart from that everything else is fine, i wouldnt return to benidorm as found the nightlife statred to late about 10pm going ont ill 4pm, and the acts in bars do up to 14 a night going round differant bars so u just end up seeing same acts most are tribute bands. drink and food in benidorn was really cheap and we went to mundomar and waterpark booked both tickets with english supermarket 200 mts from apartments called quicksave fella does u really good deals there esp if u buy more than one ticket u can walk to these parks there nx to each other but its along walk and uphill at end near parks can get bus for 1 euro. beach is lovely but was to packed for me.

We got a bargain holiday with Flyglobespan and weren't sure what to expect - how wrong we were to be hesitant. This hotel was fantastic - sheer luxury from the moment we stepped in with the porter taking your luggage up to your room. Rooms were excellent with a pool view and you can choose whether you want high up or a lower floor. The pool and grounds were gorgeous and very peaceful too and there were plenty sunbeds wit hluxury mattresses on as well. Its not really for families with children as there's not much for them to do (a bonus if your wanting a child free holiday!); Food was in abundance with so much choice and delicious too. It is set back from the main roads which is a huge plus point in Benidorm - not very far to walk back but enough to be away from the noisy crowds!! You won't be disappointed with this hotel.

Hotel lovely, service excellent. Food luke warm most of the time but edible. Local alcohol had no alcohol in so stick to wine or beer. Be careful though if travelling with Thomson as coach left 10 minutes early leaving us and our 6 month old baby standed costing us 58 euro by taxi. Thomson staff rude and lied and refused to refund taxi fair even though their fault. Numerous letters of complaints also failed to recover our fair. Good holiday spoilt by poor aftersales service! Needless to say after 20 years with Thomson I will not be travelling with them again.

Well What can I say, yes as all the reviews state tacky, over crowded, rough etc, but if you visit in March you get the weather, you get a taste of the atmosphere but you also get a wonderfully relaxing holiday as well. We visit every year in March and use the resort as a base, we are a young couple with a daughter and usually stay in a nice hotel although can recommend the following hotels and apartments :
1); El Faro Apartments - Imaculate and the most stunning sea views
2); Corona Del Mar Hotel - Poor Location on a busy road, but great service, a true 4star hotel with indoor pool.
3); Magic Monika - Superb AI hotel, great food, great location and 10 hotels in the benidorm area you can use the facilities of plus a 2 bedroom apartment as well.
I would not visit benidorm in the summer, I find February too cold but March the temp can be in in the 90s and not much rain. GO FOR IT!!!!!. One final thing to mention is to hire a car, we always do this, get into the mountains and see the costa blanca from a different perspective, when up there find a restaurant clinging to the hillside called Sa Canterella, you will not be dissapointed

We had an apartment on the 15th floor and it had a great view but it wasn't that big and didn't have air con.

Be careful when out as I heard of a few people that had been mugged after being stopped by local Spanish lads - not just at night either I heard of one that happened in a busy street in the daytime!!

Apparently the reps weren't to helpful either had had attitudes when they needed help.

A very lively party venue but very much like Blakpool in the sun it is extremely tacky. If you want a typical lads holiday it is full of bars, clubs and is a good location but make sure you take your kiss me quick hats.
