Having seen the changes in Fuerteventura over more than 30 years, from a very sleepy island,to
a modern tourist destination,(not all for the better);, I feel competent to give some advice.
Firstly,Fuerteventura is an island you either love or hate! It is not nessesary for a place to be green to be breathtakingly beatyful. With its undulating hills in all shades of brown, beige and the finest, whitest, beaches within easy reach of Europe,it offers the most for the discerning traveller willing to venture away from the tourist hotspots.
To get there can be a nightmare if you travel with a charter airline from Brittain,as they all offer you
legroom enough for a pygmee.and food and service on a level unmentionable here!Thats why the owners of theese companies have their own private jets !! (Believe me,I have tried every operator that fly there); With exeption of BA/Gib Air.which I rate 8 out of 10.most others do not deserve to be in business!
Pay a little extra and go for the best hotel you can
afford and you are safe enough and want to come back with happy memories.Hire a car and explore not only the coast, but the interior as well! Fantastic local eateries, eat where the canariens does. After all the years I have visited , I still need to have at least 2 to 3 trips a year.
You can do anything from playing golf to riding Dromedars ,if you are that way inclined. It is an island to enjoy every second.- if you are open for it !! Fuerteventura to me is 10 out of 10.
