Just returned from a fortnights holiday at the El Trebol apts. We had a fantastic holiday in Costa Teguise which is a lovely resort with lots to do to suit all ages.
The El Trebol apts are situated about 10 minutes from La Cuchares beach and about 15/20 minute stroll from the centre of Costa Teguise with its good array of tapas bars, english bars, spanish resteraunts ( try LANIS at the top of Teguise just behind the main beach. Fantatic food but be prepared to wait as it gets very busy but well worth it); and childrens games arcades and playgrounds.
Immediately outside the apts are a few english bars....Chequers, Ferraris, Legends and Cactus Jacks. Good if you like that kind of thing ohhh and the El Trebol snack bar where you could get a large beer in frozen glasses. Hubby was well pleased.
Now onto the complex itself. The new reception is kept impeccable with friendly staff. Rooms basic but roomy and clean enough. Maids came round nearly every day but only changed sheets twice in our stay there :-(
The pool area was gorgeous ( but NO LIFEGUARDS); with lots of palm trees and cacti. There was also a few bird of paradise plants dotted here and there.
The pool itself was cleaned daily and the gardens are very well kept. The maintenance men work really hard all day long so a big thumbs up to them.
The pool is cold at first but you get used to it. Our son, Cameron, was in there nearly every day.
    Now.....the food!!!!!!
We went with an open mind baring in mind we had been reading the reviews for months beforehand.
The first few days were fine. You get the usual stuff. Breakfast consisted of spanish rashers, eggs..fried/boiled,scrambled. Cereals, fruit, pancakes cooked in front of you, pastries etc etc.
Lunch at the snack bar was a bit naff really. The restaraunt had chicken, fish, pasta salads, cold meats. All edible but became a tad mundane.
Dinner was pretty much the same but more varied. The mexican night was good. Tortillas, nachos, fahitas, chilli con carne. They had a chinese night too. Im VERY fussy when it comes to food so I was a bit cheesed off by the end of the holiday but John and Cameron would of been happy to eat there every night.
The entertainment was ok. Something different every night although the kids disco was the same every night.
All in all, a good place to stay. I only give the place a 7 scoring coz of the food and the fact that there was little or no security in the complex and we never once saw a lifeguard round the pool.
We'll defo be going back to Teguise but will stay in the centre as theres a lot more to do there
