Holiday reviews for Los Cristianos

Oasis Golf Resort is a nice resort with good apartments and three good pools. The apartments are two stories and have a patio and a balcony and are well equipped. The downside is the location and the on-site prices. There is a supermarket with prices in the region of twice to four-times those in local supermarkets but the nearest one is a 20 minute walk down 'cardiac hill' and a 5 euro taxi ride back. It is a 40 minute walk to the bars, shops and restaurants in the centre of Los Cristianos.
The safe in our apartment was 'broken' so we had to pay 20 euros to use one in reception and we would have had to pay 4 euros a day to watch the television. There is limited and very amateurish evening entertainment.
The resort is set on the edge of a golf course but is just by the motorway and can be noisy. The area between the resort and Los Cristianos is undeveloped and resembles a large builders dumping ground and is not a pleasant area to walk through at all, especially at night. If you are prepared to stay within the resort and not move out and are prepared to pay their prices it would make for a reasonable holiday.

Since finding Tenerife just over 9 years ago I have never wanted to holiday anywhere else. In fact, my husband & I love it so much we bought a small villa in the beautiful, lush, sub tropical north west of the island. It has an ideal climate for holidays any time of the year & it's only a 4 hour's flight away from the gloomy British winter. It is never too hot or too cold. Tenerife offers the obvious sun & sand, walking in the spectacular scenery of one of Mount Teide's National Park 21 way marked trails, golf. fishing etc. If you want to hire a car the roads are in excellent condition & car hire is inexpensive, as is the efficient bus service. Dining out is so much more of a pleasure because Tenerife is a duty free lsland. Wine & other drinks are so much cheaper than in the UK as is the petrol. We can afford to eat out every night. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

as we were aware, the apartments were at the top of a long hill but the taxi fare back up was only 4 euros so no hassle. The apartment we stayed in was a two bedroomed one, and was spotlessly clean. Only one problem - the bathroom was tiny so if there are any larger people out there, please check before booking.

Me and three mates went here in sept 2003, I had been told all the horror stories about las americas and decided to book to go to its smaller more respectable neighbour los critianos.

We were three lads looking for a decent hotel (3- 4 *); and close to the pubs and clubs for a good night out. I would say we got that, the hotel was great, all you needed. The accomodation is either in apartments or rooms. we had and apartment and it was nice.

** tip, hire a car straight from the airport for a week, We arrived 2 hors before the rest of the usual coach party and had a choice of rooms, The drive only takes 10 mins and its all by motorway (poolside upper floors please, thankyou);**

The resort is pleasent but nothing happens after midnight, unless there is a festival on, Taxis to to LA only cost ?8 and are very good. I would not go to tenerife again in a hurry but would recommend it once in a lifetime (the place can smell a bit, and half of las americas was closed down because the 18 - 30 brigade has turned it into a hell hole... I personally prefure greece for a holiday but you may be different to me...
