Torviscas is situated near Costa Adeje and is a 10-15 minute walk from Playa de las Americas. Torviscas has a pleasant, fine sandy beach called Playa Fanabe which is unlike the coarse volcanic sand of Las Americas.
It's centre still has numerous bars and 'Brit/Irish' themed pubs which mostly open until aprox 3am out of season (which is when we travelled);.
The Aquapark is situated in Torviscas and was literally 5 minutes away from where we stayed - great for the children. The Aquapark has much improved since my last visit 10 years ago :-);
A trip out to sea on the 'Monte Carlo' to whale/dolphin watch is also an experience.
In general, Torviscas is a nice place for couples and families to stay if you require a cheerful beach holiday, with several excursions to participate in which adults and children will enjoy together.
However, the apartment in Paradise Court was very basic and simple. We had a 'seaview balcony', only problem is, the sea was obstructed by various hotels. The phone didn't work, neither did the cooker - so it was good that eating out was so cheap ;-); Paradise Court have many of its apartments in permanent residence and has numerous 'silence' signs around the complex. So, it is not ideal for the younger generation, or for those who have children.
To summarise, the place is quite nice, if you know that you just want a cheap n' cheerful getaway, but avoid Paradise Court - only suitable for the over 60's.
