Hotel reviews for Green Abacus Hotel

We stayed here in October 2005 and it was a big mistake! Although the staff were hard working and it was obviously nearing the end of the season they were very tired the whole place looked tired too. The rooms were very clean though although basic, like motel rooms. We went on an all inclusive holiday and it was very cheap and we now know why. You could see they were working on a budget but it was false economy as more food got thrown away than was eaten. I was told when I arrived by a guest "its awful food, Turkish". What did they expect in Turkey!! Anyhow, it wasnt anyway, just badly cooked english food.. cauliflower cheese and brussel sprouts - definately not Turkish. They should stick to what they know best. We put up with it as it was only for a week but what was most annoying was the inconsiderate, thoughtless acts of the British guests. Banging doors, drunken behaviour, shouting and arguing and these were not 18-30 year olds. We were ashamed to be British.. and you could see that although they didnt like it the staff were used to it. The Hotel is only a 10 min bus ride to Marmaris beach which is nasty and dirty. We took the courtesy bus to Icmeler and we could use the sunbeds free at Golden Beach Bar if we bought something to drink/eat etc. Much nicer beach and cleaner. We did like Turkey a lot but would not go back to Marmaris or Club Sarba 6 or Green Abacus or whatever they would like to call it (perhaps Fawlty Towers Turkish style);. If you like the loud, rude visitors that this hotel attracts then this is for you.
