I have just got back from my week holiday at Vela Apart or Mango as it was previously called, with my parents and younger brother. We booked two rooms, and asked them to be next to each other.
We arrived at Dalaman at 4am (their time) and then had to sit on a coach for over 2 hours to get to Marmaris. When we finally arrived at the 'hotel' at 6am, we got that feeling of "is this really it?!" The pictures we were shown were made to look as it was lovely and clean and in a open spaced setting. Yet it was surrounded by other hotels that happened to be much better quality.

As we entered the so called reception, it was dirty and dark, just a hallway with a desk, it had a couple of chairs against the wall and a fish tank next to the safe boxes which were on the outside of the desk that wasn't watched most of the time.
The staff member who greeted us looked like he didn't want to be there and had no idea what he was doing. He then picked up a key from the middle floor and one from the top floor. When my mum told him that we requested two rooms together he then replied with 'we don't have any'. Yet 20 minutes after my parents were shown their room in the attic, another couple was then shown to the room next door. We had to carry our suitcases ourselves up lots of stairs and then when reaching our rooms you had to pay an extra £35 for air conditioning a week. Our room wasn't the greatest. The floor was dirty, the bedroom door fell off as I was about to get changed, bathroom door handle completely fell off. The bathroom itself was dirty and dark. Had no windows, fan or ventilation. The drain was broken. Shower falling off the wall and water leaking from bathroom above. The kitchen was filled with minimum cooking utensils, with no oven/grill. Yet meant to be self catering. Just cupboards, a sink and a broken fridge freezer that kept nothing cold and leaked from the freezer as there was no ice. The balcony bars had started falling off too.

As for my parents room it was a sauna. Dirty and dark, sink with a massive hole in the middle instead of an actual plug hole. Wire coming out of the wall and air conditioning. To save re-writing the same about my room theirs was worse!

The next morning they asked to move, and were moved to the other side of the hotel but on our floor, the room was better, but at around 11am a foul smell came up from the drains, that would make you want to vomit! The stench was so bad we had to go outside!

The pool was clean and staff seemed friendly, although if you are like me and like your personal space then they defiantly didn't give you that. As they continued to throw me into the pool with my clothes on with no care as to me maybe having my phone, ipod or money on me at the time. They also did this to other guests at the hotel.

There was much to do because the beach was so small it was better to stay at the hotels pool. The only good thing about it was that the other visitors staying were so friendly. Yet also complained about at least 2 or 3 things.

On our last day, me my dad and brother were down by the pool when a member of staff came up to my dad and told him that there was a leak in our room and that it was flooding the room below (yet we was above the bar and there was nothing underneath). They told us we had under an hour to move our stuff into our parents room because workmen were coming to tear up the floors.
To my mums shock when we came up immediately to tell her. She went down to the reception to find out what exactly what was happening they told her that we was to move into their room. It was a bit of a coincidence that it was our room and that we could easily move to their room as to another room. After about 20 minutes of trying to explain how if that if it was another couple where would they put them into a new room. They threatened her by saying that they would move me and my brother into another hotel. Knowing that of cause she wouldn't do that. She then asked for her money back as she had paid over £110 per night per room. And they laughed at spoke in turkish to one another and offered her £5 for a nights free air conditioning.

Being extremely annoyed and then seeing a maid cleaning the room even though its meant to be having the floor pulled up. We kept an eye on the balcony which had been closed and curtains drawn. Later on that evening. Another guest had been speaking to a family that had booked 2 rooms and had only been give 1 had said they had just been given a room. And that it was above the bar and there was a sign on the curtain saying 'do not under any circumstances go onto the balcony! Extremely dangerous!'.
They thought it was perfect cover up to stop us from knowing that they had given it away!

It turned out that the family didn't even use the second room as the mother and son had bug and was sick that night.

We was lied to and kicked out for nothing! They ruined what seemed to be a good holiday away.

I suggest to you that you DO NOT! Come to this hotel!!!!!!! It is cheap for a reason! They don't know which rooms are free they just want to make money! Trust me! Get your money back and go somewhere else!!!!!
