Hotel reviews for Casa Marina Reef

i am not 1 for complaining but i am with this holiday,it would take me all day to write all the problems we had with this hotel,i have to thomson,do not go this hotel,if you have had a fab all inclusive holiday before,the bars shut at 11pm dead on and you can only get 2 drinks per person,there was 13 of us but still 2 drinks per person,i went 1 night at 10.50 to get 3 beers and 2 vodkas,after getting told(2 per person);i said i was getting my familys drinks he said no,i told my brother and husband to **** and get there own it was about 10.57,they stood up from the tables walked over to the bar and the bar man turned the lights out and said finito.i have finished.i paid allinclusive but had to go to a cash bar at 11pm,there is 1 problem,the decking area all over the bars are falling to bits and nails sticking up from them,my son cut his foot on a nail coming back from the beach then cut his foot on glass around the pool area,it took 30 mins of painfull screams to get the glass out,we had mould on our bedding and our curtains,the rooms stink,at the weekend the locals come for a break,they do not tell you this in brouchers,if you like been pushed infront of at the bars and at meal times and them taking your swimming things ie lilos and rings,you will be ok,it rained for 3 days inall of our 2 weeks there,there is nowhere to sit undercover at night times or the day if it rains unless you are having a meal,we sat 1 night on our balcony,we was bottom floor,the men went the bar for 13 peoples drinks and came back with 2 drinks per person,arghhhhhhh we paid all inclusive,we have paid for what we like.you will not get it here,i did not find the dominican ppl nice at all unless you go out the hotel of a night and they are ok,maybe they do not get paid enough to be nice to the travellers but i paid ?2500 for me,my husband,my 9 yr old daughter and my 4 yr old son,that was not the only problems i found but like i said i would be here forever,if you have been here or are going email me on MELLORFAMILY04@NTLWORLD.COM.what a waste of muney,i have paid cheaper for a holiday and had a ball,i will never go to the dom rep again,this was my first and last time,never again

i have been to both hotels at this resort personally i find the reef side a bit better than the beach side. The food is wonderful cannot fault it at all although i was not fussed on the Mexican(i dont like Mexican at the best of times!); the drinks are not watered down as some reviewers like to tell, just ask my liver!! i have just booked to return to this complex for next year (this year its cuba); for 3 weeks, i am quite a fussy person so if i can stand it for 3 weeks then i'm sure oter travellers will enjoy. i did find some negitive reviews on this property but they where mostly americans(soory but you do moan); complaining that the could not eat for 2 hours a day! they do serve cakes and tea during the 2 hours the kitchens are re-stocked so you wont starve!! my friend put on a stone in 2 weeks there an he is the worst eater out of the 2 of us!!!!! cannot recomend this place enough although if you do go dont book any trips through the Rep go out of the hotel (it is safe); and book through 'Mel's Tours he is the best a getting great trips at great prices and he is fully insured even though the Rep will tell you he is not i paid ?90 to go white water rafting through the rep and the same trip was less than half price i learnt the hard way.
