Holiday reviews for New York

The Amsterdam Inn is one of the cheapest and most central places I've stayed in NYC. Its dead opposite Central Park and 5 mins walk to an underground station. Its good for those who are budget-conscious and looking for a base from which to explore more than anything else. It also has a cool bar below it which is handy.

We had a fantastic weekend in New York, and got engaged whilst we were there!

The 'On the Ave' hotel was a really nice hotel. Very modern, chic, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Perfectly located in the Upper West Side within walking distance of Central Park, plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and close to a subway station to reach other parts of the city.

The Manhattan Diner on the corner of the street opposite the hotel is a hotspot for breakfast and brunch, with huge plates of with eggs, bacon, pancakes or just about anything you want being served, all washed down with a big mug of coffee! Just what you need to set you off before a full day sight seeing. Real life NYPD were sat in the booth next to us which was all very Hill Street Blues- ish!

The Upper West Side was a lovely area of the city to use as a base for our trip and we would definately consider staying in this hotel on our next visit.

New York is wonderful and we would go again tomorrow. We are very jealous if you are planning a trip to this fabulous city!
